One of the ways Tristan Thompson tried to make his way back into Khloé Kardashian‘s good graces is by leaving thirsty AF comments on pretty much all of her Instagram pics. Fans have spotted his heart-eye and drooling emojis in the responses to her selfies, glammed-up shots and snaps with daughter True. But did all of his flattery actually work?
It seems so! In September 2020, six months after they reunited to quarantine together amid the coronavirus pandemic, In Touch confirmed Khloé and Tristan were back together.
“They’ve gotten over their issues and have come out stronger than ever,” the insider shared at the time, adding that the couple is making plans for their happily ever after. “Having another child together is definitely on the cards and possibly even a wedding in the future.”
A source told In Touch exclusively in June 2020 they “have been trying to work their relationship out for a while now,” and they tried to keep their reconciliation under wraps.
“Khloé was really worried about going public,” the insider added, revealing she was afraid of the inevitable “backlash” the news would create. “She didn’t want to hear everyone’s opinions. She takes everything to heart — all the tweets, IG comments, etc. — and she reads everything.”
Reconciliation rumors went as far back as 2019. A cryptic post the Good American owner shared right before New Year’s Eve that year, which was eight months after their split, only spurred those speculations. “The beautiful thing about life is that you can always change, grow and get better,” read a quote she shared. “You aren’t defined by your past. You aren’t your mistakes.”
Even big sister Kim Kardashian seems to be warming back up to her niece’s father. Following reports that she stood up to boo Tristan during a basketball game where the L.A. Lakers faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Keeks shut down the rumors. “I was there to support him!” she wrote on Twitter in January 2020. “[I] was cheering, screaming, ‘LET’S GO TRISTAN!!!’ I would never go boo anyone. I don’t go to hate, only to cheer!”
When his first cheating scandal broke, Kim was one of the first to condemn her sister’s ex. “Like, I don’t even know how to describe it besides, it’s just so f–ked up,” she told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show in April 2018.
It seems Kim had a change of heart after Tristan proved to be a whole new man. In a bonus scene from KUWTK that was released in June 2020, Kim reflected on how much Tristan has changed since his second cheating scandal in April 2019 with Kylie Jenner‘s former best friend Jordyn Woods.
“He’s, like, honestly so nice,” Kim said in the clip. “And it’s been a full year of him as a different person.”
Now that Tristan was welcomed back into the Kardashian/Jenner family, the couple has slowly been more and more public with their rekindled romance. Check out the gallery below to see what the NBA star has had to say.
