Travis Scott – Astroworld Festival’s Youngest Fatality Victim, 9-Year-Old Ezra Blount, Laid To Rest

New reports have surfaced in the crazy aftermath of Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert.

According to reports, a funeral for the youngest Astroworld fatality victim, Ezra Blount, was held yesterday (Nov. 23) morning at the Body of Christ Church in Dallas. During the service, which was open to the public, a monitor reportedly displayed highlights of Ezra Blount’s life. Initially, the 9-year-old was hospitalized following the chaotic music festival that took place earlier this month on Nov. 5. However, the young child, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and his family confirmed his death on Nov. 14, bringing the death toll from the concert to 10.

According to reports, Ezra Blount attended the Travis Scott concert with his dad Treston Blount. Ezra’s grandparents recently shared with a Houston-based news station that their grandson was on Treston Blount’s shoulders when the festival turned unruly. During the musical event, Ezra’s dad allegedly passed out from the intense pressure of the crowd, which caused the minor to fall to the ground as well where he was trampled by other concertgoers, according to the family’s GoFundMe.

Ezra’s grandparents also revealed that he was separated from his father, and they were the ones that found him alone at the hospital in a coma, suffering from major organ damage and severe brain swelling.

As previously reported, after news broke about Ezra’s passing, Nike decided to postpone its upcoming shoe collaboration with Travis Scott. The multinational corporation shared in a statement,

“Out of respect for everyone impacted by the tragic events at the Astroworld Festival, we are postponing the launch of the Air Max 1 x Cactus Jack.”

Ezra’s family, along with 300+ Astroworld concertgoers, has filed lawsuits against the Astroworld organizers, venue management, and festival performers. The family’s lawsuit, filed by famed civil rights attorney Ben Crump, alleges negligence regarding crowd control, medical attention, and event staffing. In a statement released on behalf of the Blount family, Ben Crump said,

“The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”
