Sophie Monk has announced her engagement to boyfriend Joshua Gross.
The 41-year-old shared the happy news on social media, while also showing off her diamond ring.
“Told you I’d tell you guys first💍🙌 I’m engaged,” she wrote on Instagram. “I honestly can’t thank you enough for all the love and support. I know I have the coolest people following me and you’ve always had my back and I feel so cared about. You’re absolute bloody legends. I’m not very good at being mushy. I’m trying to say I absolutely adore you.😍.”
The Love Island Australia host revealed that her new fiancé designed her engagement ring by consulting her favourite Sydney-based jewellery designer, Luke Rose Jewellery — and she’s delighted with the results.
“@joshuargross and I are so happy. Josh designed a very personal ring with my favourite Aussie designer @luke_rose_jewellery and I LOVE IT ❤️,” she added.
Monk and Gross first met in August 2018 when they were sat next to each other in business class on a plane. They shared a kiss mid-air, and have been together ever since.
In an interview with KIIS 1065‘s Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson at the time, Monk recalled getting on a plane and “sitting next to this random and it was business class, but there was no divider. He was so charming and funny and he had no idea what I did.
“When I say it out loud it doesn’t really make sense, but it does to me. I feel like it’s going to work. He’s normal, down to earth, intelligent.”
