Singer Jessie J has shared the devastating news she lost her unborn baby after falling pregnant and planning to raise a child on her own.

The Price Tag singer took to Instagram to reveal she had miscarried after being told her baby no longer had a heartbeat when going in for her third scan.

Jessie J, 33, kept the pregnancy a secret from fans and said in the heartbreaking confessional she has “no control of my emotions” — but still planned on performing a gig in LA that evening.

“Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying ‘seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant’,” the Flashlight songstress wrote on the social media post.

“By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down… After going for my 3rd scan and being told there was no longer a heartbeat.

“This morning. I feel like I have no control of my emotions. I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know.”

The British-born singer shared the news alongside a photo of herself clutching a pregnancy test and a moving quote by Seyda Noir: “Sometimes love won’t be enough to make it work, and that’s ok. It doesn’t mean that you’ve failed.”

The newly single musician also revealed in the post she planned to have the baby alone after splitting from boyfriend Max Pham in October.

Jessie J has been candid about her fertility struggles in the past and told fans of her “sadness” after learning she was unable to conceive a child naturally while on stage.

“I decided to have a baby on my own. Because it’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short. To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again,” she continued.

“I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok.”

Jessie J went on to stand in solidarity with other women who have experienced the pain of infertility or miscarriage.

“I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t,” she said. “It’s the loneliest feeling in the world.”

The singer then thanked her fans for their love and support in a subsequent Instagram Story, writing: “Your overwhelming instant outpour of love is felt, received and appreciated beyond measure. And has got me out of bed this morning. Thank you.”

Jessie J also dated actor Tatum Channing from 2018 to 2020, calling it quits in October 2020.

Channing was vocal in support of his then-girlfriend when she opened up about her struggles to fall pregnant during a concert.
