Nick Cannon Tests Positive For COVID-19—Niecy Nash To Fill In For Him As Host Of “The Masked Singer”

#Roommates, unfortunately another celebrity has tested positive for COVID-19…and this time it’s the always busy Nick Cannon. It was just confirmed that not only has Nick Cannon contracted COVID-19, but Niecy Nash has been tapped to temporarily step in to one of his biggest jobs.

@Variety exclusively reports, Nick Cannon, host of the popular reality competition series “The Masked Singer,” has recently been confirmed as testing positive for COVID-19. As a result, he will not be able to host the first few episodes of the show’s new season—that’s where Niecy Nash comes in. Niecy has been chosen to fill in in for Nick temporarily until he is clear to return to the set.

Niecy will begin taking over as guest host when production begins on February 4th for the fifth season of “The Masked Singer.” Meanwhile, Nick Cannon is reportedly currently in quarantine and resting, one of his representatives confirmed. The FOX network expects Nick to return to the series later in the season.

Season five of “The Masked Singer” is scheduled to premiere in March—with returning judges Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke.

The show’s fourth season ended in December as TV’s number one entertainment series, tied with NBC’s “This Is Us.” While it’s been on hiatus, FOX has been airing the spinoff competition show “The Masked Dancer,” which has also proved to be a hit with fans.
