Here Is The New “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” Cast

Who you gonna call? Bill Murray, of course!

Ghostbusters, one of the biggest franchises of the eighties, is back for another round. If you’re anything like me, then I bet you can’t wait to see how they have continued on the storyline.

We know the theme song, we remember the original Ghostbusters trio, and now we get to see the next generation of hunters follow in their grandfather’s footsteps, taking down all things scary! The cast looks ~awfully~ familiar so this is where you may know them from.

Finn Wolfard – Trevor

Young Finn is back on our screens playing Trevor, the teen son of Callie, who I’m sure you remember from the first film. He started his career with a few short videos and films, but you may recognise him from his roles in the TV series Supernatural and The 100. However, his first major role was in Stranger Thing’s as Mike Wheeler, and then he played Richie Tozier in the movie remake of IT. He has some big names under his belt so I’m certain you have seen him somewhere, and despite his age, he has already been nominated for 18 awards and has won eight.

Mckenna Grace – Phoebe

At just 15 years old, Mckenna has played many small roles, quickly becoming a well-known child star. She’s featured in Vampire Diaries, CSI, and Crash & Bernstein, and is known for playing younger versions of characters we love. It didn’t take her long to be given more prominent roles in films such as a young Tonya in I, Tonya, Esther Keys in The Handmaid’s Tale, and Mary in the film Gifted. Personally, I think she’s one of the best child actors I’ve seen in a long time and I couldn’t be happier she’s part of this cast.

Paul Rudd – Mr Grooberson

If this film only featured Paul, I would still go and watch it. He appeared in some of the biggest films and shows on television, Clueless, Friends, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, This is 40, and Ant-Man to name a few. Throughout his career, he’s been nominated for an award twenty-seven and has nine award wins under his belt, not to mention recently being named Sexiest Man Alive. I think we can all agree that the title is very much deserved.

Bill Murray – Dr. Peter Venkman

Bringing back all the nostalgic feels of the eighties, Bill returns, and I love to see it! Bill featured in the first Ghostbusters movie, as well as classics such as Tootsie, The Little Shop of Horrors, Scrooged, and What About Bob. He played Herman Blume in Rushmore and Phil Connors in Groundhog Day. He was also nominated for an Oscar for his leading role in Lost in Translation.

Dan Aykroyd – Dr. Raymond Stantz

Here is one of the coolest men in film. You’ve probably seen Dan as Elwood Blues in Blues Brothers, but he also has a major role in the original Ghostbusters. Dan was a huge part of Saturday Night Live, writing fifty-six episodes and appearing in four. He’s been nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in Driving Miss Daisy and has received multiple Primetime Emmy and Razzie nominations. Is it really a Ghostbusters film without him?

Ernie Hudson – Dr. Winston Zeddmore

Earnie has been credited over 250 times for his work in the film and TV industry, so I can guarantee you have seen him countless times. He played Lee in the Incredible Hulk TV Series, William Thomas in Little House on the Prairie, he was in the original Ghostbusters, Soloman in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and McDonald in Miss Congeniality. He’s won three Best Actor awards for his role in Oz and has been nominated for nine awards. This man has certainly had a busy career and shows no signs of slowing down just yet.

Sigourney Weaver – Dana Baratte

In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, we get to see the three-time Oscar nominee, Sigourney Weaver again! If you don’t know her from Alien, you may have seen her in Avatar or the Galaxy Quest. She was also in the first Ghostbuster, movie so rest assured it’ll be just as good, if not better than the first one.

Annie Potts – Janine Melnitz

“We got one”, and that one would be Annie Potts! Annie is returning to the film as Janine Melnitz, and honestly, I couldn’t imagine it her. She won a Golden Globe for her role as Vanessa in Corvette Summer and a Genie Award for being Bonnie Howard in Heartaches. She later went on to feature in Pretty in Pink, Jumping Jack Flash and of course, Ghostbusters. She’s widely known for her role in Young Sheldon, and though you can’t see her, you’ve almost definitely heard her voice as Bo Peep in Toy Story 4.

Carrie Coon – Callie

Much like Mckenna, Carrie has also been nominated for a Primetime Emmy for her role as Gloria Bungle in Fargo. She also starred in Gone Girl, Avengers: Infinity Wars, Avengers: Endgame, and a significant role in Law and Order. Anyone who can pull off Proxima Midnight the way Carrie did is deserving of being front and centre, so keep an eye out for her performance.

Celeste O’Connor – Lucky

One of the newer faces in the cast is Celeste O’Connor, and I don’t know about you but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of her work. She plays a teenage Abbie in Irreplaceable You, Paloma in Selah and the Spades, and Nyla Chones in Freaky. She’s relatively new to the acting scene, but we can expect big things from her. There is no doubt we will see her winning award after award in no time.

Oliver Cooper – Elton

Oliver began his career back in The Lois Levine Show, and went on to star in Project X as Costa, Levon in Californication, and David Berkowitz in Mindunter. In 2012 he was nominated for Best On-Screen Dirtbag and Best Comedic Performance for Project X, so perhaps he’ll bring some comedy to his Ghostbusters role.

Bokeem Woodbine – Sheriff Domingo

If Bokeem seems at all familiar, then you’ve probably seen him in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Herman Shultz, or in Fargo as Mike Milligan, which he was awarded a Black Reel award for, or perhaps in his reoccurring roles in City of Angels in his early career.

Also making their film debuts in the movie are Marlon Kazadi as Thickneck, Sydney Mae Diaz as Swayse, and Logan Kim as Podcast.
