Emily Ratajkowski is officially a mum!
The 29-year-old model welcomed her first child, Sylvester Apollo Bear, with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard, announcing the news via Instagram on March 11 along with the first photo of her newborn.

“Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side. Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life,” she captioned her post.
Ratajkowski first revealed she was pregnant back in October in a video for Vogue. In an essay for the publication, she said she and Bear-McClard, 31, didn’t want to know the sex of their baby because it would be up to the child to decide how they identify.
“Everyone laughs at this,” she said. “There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who — rather than what — is growing inside my belly. Who will this person be? What kind of person will we become parents to? How will they change our lives and who we are?
“This is a wondrous and terrifying concept, one that renders us both helpless and humbled.”

“But I don’t like that we force gender-based preconceptions onto people, let alone babies,” Ratajkowski continued. “I want to be a parent who allows my child to show themself to me. And yet I realise that while I may hope my child can determine their own place in the world, they will, no matter what, be faced with the undeniable constraints and constructions of gender before they can speak or, hell, even be born.”
