Actor and director John Krasinski is one smitten #girldad.
The Office star not only talked about his daughters in his opening monologue while hosting Saturday Night Live this past weekend, but he also wore a T-shirt to honour his girls, Hazel, six, and Violet, four.
In a sweet gesture, the 41-year-old had the letters ‘H+V’ stitched into the fabric over his tee, which he wore towards the end of taping.
“John wanted to have his daughters’ initials monogrammed on his shirt for SNL goodnight looks ❤️,” his stylist Ilaria Urbinati revealed on Instagram alongside a photo of Krasinski on stage.
Earlier in the broadcast, Krasinski also gushed about his girls and how he hoped they would be proud of him for achieving his dream of hosting SNL.
“I am so honoured to be hosting the first show of 2021! I genuinely cannot tell you what a huge deal it is for me to be here right now!” he said on stage. “I have been watching this show since I was eight years old.
“I was trying to explain that to my kids, what I was doing this week, and I told them, ‘You know how your favourite show is Paw Patrol? My favourite show is SNL. So for me, it’s like I’m on Paw Patrol.’
“And they were like, ‘What? You’re on Paw Patrol?’ And I was like, ‘No, no, no.’ And they were like, ‘Oh, call us when you’re on Paw Patrol.”
The actor has long credited his daughters — who he shares with wife Emily Blunt — for changing his life for the better. In a previous interview with the US Today show, he said the girls “in every way, completely and totally” shifted his perspective.
“I think the biggest question I have is, what did I do with my life before this?” he told the outlet. “What did I do with all the time that I had on my hands? I think it’s certainly a full-on job, and something that I enjoy so much, but I really do look back and think, was I just the dude who ate potato chips and movies all day?”
